Terry Morehouse, SRES
Terry’s first exposure to real estate began in 1976 as a means to augment his highly successful general contracting firm, in the greater Allentown and Philadelphia markets. After surviving the 1980-81 recession, Terry sold his operations, to embark on a new career path with John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. Eighteen months later, Terry was counted among the top agents in the country, opening the door to membership in the esteemed Pennsylvania Leaders Roundtable, and The distinguished Million Dollar Roundtable.
In 1985, Terry relocated to Brandon, Florida, to establish Morehouse Financial Services — a Financial / Estate Planning, Multi-line Insurance, Investment, and Tax Accounting firm. As President and CEO, Terry was licensed with the NASD as a Registered Investment Adviser. He also held Life and Health Insurance licenses in five states.
While a member of the Tampa Life Underwriters Association, Terry attained his LUTCF accreditation and then went on to teach Life Insurance and Financial Planning Courses for several years.
Highly recognized by his peers as a community leader, Terry was a finalist for the coveted "Brandon Small Business Leader Of The Year Award" in both 1990 and 1994. Furthering his list of accomplishments would include serving on The Children’s Board, The Hillsborough County Housing Finance Authority, and The University of Tampa Board of Governors. He chartered the Brandon / East Hillsborough Chapter of the American Heart Association and served as President for two years. He co-established the Family Financial Management Program for the Hillsborough County Co-operative Extension, and served on the Board of Center Place Fine Arts and Civic Association in Brandon. While serving as a Vice President of Bloomingdale Little League, he spearheaded a successful campaign against the County Commission to save the league from condemnation. His effort resulted in Bloomingdale becoming one of the highest rated facilities in the State.
Terry was also extremely active in local politics, having made two close bids for the School Board and the County Commission. In 1996, because of his invaluable insight to education, he was appointed to the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Hillsborough County School Board. As Chairman from 1998 to 2000, he pushed for historic Unitary Status resolutions that helped shape the School System to what it is today. As such, his unselfish and relentless efforts were recognized in 2000 when he received the highly coveted E.D.D.I.E. (Excellance Dedication Devotion In Education) Award from the Hillsborough County School Board.
In 1998, Terry returned to real estate full time --- relying on his knowledge and experience to approach all of his business with unparalleled professionalism.
